Aliou Cissé on Senegal tragedy ahead of England clash
In late September 2002, 11 of Aliou Cissé’s family members, including his sister, died in a ferry disaster, often labelled ‘Africa’s Titanic’, off the coast of The Gambia, which is surrounded by Senegal.
“This is the first time since the sinking that I have spoken about it in the press,” Cissé said. “It was a very difficult time.”

Australia promise Argentina a battle in last 16
Australia coach Graham Arnold has promised Argentina a war on Saturday when the Socceroos look to spring an upset for the ages in the last 16 of the World Cup.
With a blend of team spirit and dogged determination, Arnold's unheralded underdogs have already notched up victories over Tunisia and Denmark in Qatar to reach the knockout stages for only the second time.
Arnold said they were not finished yet and would be in Argentina's faces for 90 minutes to try and give the South Americans as little time on the ball as possible.
"No disrespect to Argentina or anything at all, but it's 11 v 11, and it's 10 blue shirts against 10 yellow shirts, and it's a battle," he told a news conference on Friday.
"It's a war, and we've got to fight that and make sure that the boys are in great physical shape, great mental shape, they've got great energy, and we go out there and give it all guns blazing."
Arnold, who as a player in 1993 came out on the wrong end of a two-legged World Cup playoff against an Argentina side featuring Maradona, said playing the twice champions was a big plus in terms of motivation.
Berhalter looking to emulate 2002 achievement
The US have only made it to the quarter-final stage of a World Cup once in their history where the advanced in the 2002 tournament staged in South Korea/Japan where a 1-0 defeat to Germany ended US hopes.
Despite being classed as underdogs to the Dutch side, Louis Van Gaal's squad have suffered with a bout of flu and this may rule out key players.
Brazil hampered by injuries ahead of South Korea clash
World Cup favourites Brazil are racing to overcome injuries to key players as they prepare for their last-16 match against South Korea on Monday, after a heavily changed side lost 1-0 to Cameroon on Friday night.
Neymar is still recovering from an ankle injury suffered in their debut win against Serbia, and they have only one pure full back available after left back Alex Telles suffered a knee injury in the Cameroon game.
Starting full backs Danilo and Alex Sandro are out after injuries suffered earlier in the competition and their availability is still unclear.
"The physical demand is ever increasing, the time is short, it's a cumulative effect of games and sometimes you don't have the ideal recovery time on your hands," coach Tite told a news conference on Friday.
Tite did not let media attend their training session on Saturday but said Neymar, Alex Sandro and Danilo should be on the pitch to test their condition.
The case of Alex Telles looks to be more serious.
"It doesn't look good, and the players know when something is not right," captain Thiago Silva told reporters on Friday.
"He felt a really strong pain in his knee and was really worried in the changing room. We all tried to cheer him up but he was not feeling right."

Soccer-Proud Son endured 'longest six minutes' before Korea advanced
Son Heung-min described South Korea's agonising wait for confirmation of their place in World Cup knockout rounds "the longest six minutes of my life" after their 2-1 win over Portugal on Friday saw them advance to the last 16.
The Korean captain set up Hwang Hee-chan to score a 91st minute winner against Fernando Santos' side and leave the Taeguk Warriors hoping Uruguay would be unable to add to their two-goal lead over Ghana in the other Group H match.
Another goal would have taken Uruguay into the last 16 at Korea's expense on goal-difference and the squad huddled together on the Education City Stadium pitch watching on digital devices as the South Americans ultimately fell short.
"It was the longest six minutes of my life, but in the circle we were really positive," said Son, who will be playing in the World Cup knockout rounds for the first time in his career.
"I said: if Uruguay score one more goal, I'm very proud of this team and very happy that you gave it everything and we will see what's going to happen.
"We were just waiting, but it was a long wait."

Berhalter hoping to draw on Dutch lessons in last 16 tie
United States coach Gregg Berhalter said he will look to draw on the lessons he learnt in the Netherlands during his playing career when the two teams meet on Saturday for a place in the World Cup quarter-finals.
Former U.S. international Berhalter signed his first professional contract with Dutch side PEC Zwolle and also played for Sparta Rotterdam and Cambuur Leeuwarden during an 18-year playing career.
The Americans, who have not reached the quarter-finals since 2002, will be underdogs against three-times finalists Netherlands but will fancy their chances against a Dutch team that stuttered through the group stage.
"I learnt so much in Holland," Berhalter told reporters on Friday. "It's almost like, what concepts haven't I taken from Dutch football? It was a great experience being there.
"After every training session and every game, you have a debate with your players about it. People love to discuss soccer and you really learn a lot. And it was a great time for me.
"If I wasn't in Holland, I don't think I would have had that background that really helped shape my ideas."

Serbia coach Stojkovic laments 'shocking' defending in loss to Switzerland
Serbia coach Dragan Stojkovic was at a loss to explain why his team conceded twice after taking a lead in their 3-2 defeat by Switzerland in Friday's final Group G encounter that saw his team eliminated from the World Cup.
Switzerland's victory left Serbia bottom of the group with just one point as they crashed out of the group stage yet again. Serbia have never moved past the World Cup group stage since the breakup of Yugoslavia.
"When you lose the game, of course we think about (mistakes made by) the defensive line, but we defend and attack as a team," Stojkovic said.
"We reversed it after 0-1 to make it 2-1, but again we didn't play well defensively. It was so easy for the Swiss to score the second goal, which was really shocking for us. Psychologically, it was very positive for the Swiss.
"These kinds of things at this level of play are forbidden. If you repeat these mistakes, it is very difficult to win. In the future we must work hard and do everything to resolve the problem."
Serbia leave Qatar without a win and with just one point after three games and Stojkovic blamed the lack of match fitness among his key players coming into the World Cup.

Understanding the Round of 16
In the knockout stage the teams will play each other once, with the winning team going to the next round. There are total of four rounds: Round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final, which will take place on Dec. 18.
There is also a third place playoff between the losers of the semi-finals.
If the scores are equal at the end of normal playing time, extra time is played for two periods of 15 minutes each. If the score is still tied, this is followed by a penalty shoot-out to determine the winners.
