Hello Everyone,Welcome to The Updates World.Today in this article i am going to talk on 5 awesome games thats are coming on Epic Game Store in Free.
What is Epic Game Store ?
Epic Games Store, an online video game store, was created by the company Epic Games. Available for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux, this store is a rival to Steam and has become infamous for giving away games for free during a limited period of time.
Epic Games Store has become quite popular among gamers looking for games compared to Origin or Uplay.
Since its initial launch in December 2018, the Epic Games store has given away a number of games for free. Fans have taken advantage of these giveaways and used them to their fullest extent.
As such, many games that used to be priced at full price, and which are still worth quite a lot, have been given away free.
Looking at the history, AAA games have been available for free once or more.
Five most enjoyable games available for free on the Epic Games Store.
1) Batman: Arkham Collection
Rocksteady’s Arkham series is one of the most iconic superheros video game franchises ever to grace computer and consoles screens. From Batman: Arkham Asylum, to Batman: Arkham City, to Batman: Arkham Knight, the game series ran from 2009 to 2015
These third-person adventure games were marketed with the slogan, ‘Be the hero.’ They fully delivered in each installment of the series. Rocksteady’s take on the Batman mythos borrows heavily from the comics in both lore and character designs.
The game was divided into two broad sections: one where players could experience Batman fighting against criminals as one of the world’s best fighters, and another where they could strike fear into the hearts (and wallets) of thugs by sneaking up behind them.
This entire trilogy by the developer Rocksteady was made freely available on the Epic Games store between September 19 and September 25, 2019.
Control was Remedy’s 2019 title, an unexpected hit among the fans. It wasn’t a popular choice among gamers to be a free game for the next few years.
However, despite the Epic Games Store surprising everyone by offering it for free both times, it was only available for one month each time.
With no DLC included, this was still an excellent single-player game with an impressive main story for users to experience for free. It follows Jesse Fadens as she comes across the Federal Bureau of Control when looking for her missing younger brother
Once inside, she faces an extra-dimensional threat which she must stop using her superhuman powers.
Third-person shooters allow players to control Jesse as she uses her powers of telekineses, dashing, and flying.
This game lets players live out a lot of fantasy scenarios. With so many Jedi skills, it almost outshines Jedi:Fallen Order.
3) Tomb Raider Reboot Trilogy
Another whole trilogy of Tomb Raider games were released on the Epic Games Store. Developed by Crystal Dynamic and Eidos Montreal, the three games in the “Survivor” trilogy were a fresh take on the character of Lara Croft, starting from her origins as a survivor of the apocalypse.
The first game, Tomb Raider, was released back in 2013, followed by the sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider back in 2015 and then the third installment Shadow of the Tomb Raider back again in 2018. As part of an annual holiday event, this collection was given away for free on the Epic Games Store in December 2021.
These games show Lara Croft’s journey as she has no choice but to adjust to the circumstances around her and become a survivor in game one, search for and solve mysteries in game two, and become a well-verses Tomb Raider in the final game.
Fans of the Tomb Raiders series have mostly praised this latest version, with a new game apparently on the horizon.
4) Star Wars Battlefront 2
When Star Wars BattleFront 2 first launched on November 13, 2017, it was heavily criticized on social media for having too many microtransactions and a pay-to-win game design. As a free-to-play title, it failed horribly, and publisher EA seems to have learned its lesson from that experience.
After three years of updates and removing micro transactions entirely, when it became free on the Epic Games store between January 14 and 21st, 2021, many were astonished.
It was a pleasant surprise. Many people jumped at the chance to play this game for no cost after removing almost all questionable content.
Battlefront II saw players participate in iconic battle and siege scenes from Star Wars history across the Prequel, Original Trilogy, and Sequel eras.
Online, they could play against other users or in special game modes where they could design their own scenarios. They could even control iconic characters from the franchise, such Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader for example.
5) GTA 5
One of Rockstar games’ most successful titles, nobody expected GTA 5 to be available for free at any time. And yet that is exactly what happened between May 14th and 21st, 2020, when it became freely available on the Epic Games Store for anyone who wanted it.
This was the GTA V base game, including both the single player and online modes.
The main story has players playing as one of three characters at different points in the narrative. Michael, Franklin, Trevor, and others eventually meet when their lives intersect, ultimately leading to a whole lot of illegal activity and fleeing from the law.
Players could create characters for the very first time in a Grand Theft Auto game and build their own life in the city of Los Angeles. While they could look at criminal activities and participate in heists with other users, a peaceful life with primarily legitimate business was also a possibility.
As part of the premium edition, gamers were given one million dollars worth of in-game currency to help them in their journey.
